Lack of Blogging Explained

May20

Wheeeeeeeee!

Wheeeeeeeee!

I’ve been kind of blah lately.  Perhaps it’s the post party let down.  Though its not as if it’s post-wedding planning blues.  Did anybody else go through that.  I was so entrenched in wedding planning and marriage excitement that somewhere right before the wedding I was hit with a wall of “what am I going to do when it’s over?!?!”

I wonder if I’m still in that? Just have felt as if I’ve nothing to say. So sorry for the silence, but here’s a recap of the past month or so.

We’ve had some redecorating going on around here.  Court brought his gaming computer (yes there are so many that they fall into categories) upstairs and bought a switch so that we now have the Mac and his computer set up to use the same mouse, keyboard and monitor.  It’s definitely a space saver and we actually see more of him than we have in quite a while because instead of being holed up in the basement all the time, he’s actually in a common space.  There are pros and cons, but I won’t take up valuable time or energy to list them.  He’s also been using headphones that keep me from having to hear the various noises that are on whatever he’s doing at the time, also a good thing.

Not sure if I mentioned this already, but we have a DLA (Desperation Leadership Academy) student ~ she’s kind of like an intern ~ living with us.  Her name is Kinzli and she’s from Ft. Collins.  We made ourselves available as home sponsors back in January, but everyone had a place at the time.  They did warn us that sometimes people might need to be moved around, so they may call us in the future to house someone…in March they did.  She’s 19 and very sweet, keeps to herself mostly and like probably all 19 year olds, comes in just at curfew pretty much every night.  She reminds me of how life was back in CT, absorbed in ministry and doing everything fun and non-scheduled in the middle of the night because that was your only time to yourself.  Plus, you’re young and you recover fast, maybe.

So anyway, we have a new friend living with us and more family coming in at the end of next week.  Not exactly sure where we’ll put everyone.  That makes it sound like there’s really a lot of people coming, but it’s just Court’s stepmom Sue and my mom.  Sue’s coming in for a long weekend and my mom will be here for the week. Their trips overlap so they’ll finally get to meet.  It’s been over 2 years and the families have never met.

It’s 11:30 and I’ve not showered yet and from the looks of this weather we’re not going to the pool today afterall.  So very teased by the last few days.  Gorgeous and sunny and 80’s.  They opened the pool at the gym over the weekend.  I’m so glad we joined.  It’s really a nice gym and it’s a little expensive but the day care and the facilities are so great and I’ve definitely been using it to workout, but now’s the time to use it for leisure too.  We spent a little time at the pool on Monday afternoon and Ava went in for the first time.  So cutie cute I couldn’t stand it.  She liked being in the water, but was clinging to me like a little monkey.  Yesterday we went in the morning, I took water aerobics and then picked her up from daycare and we went out to the pool and were there until noon.  I would have left earlier, but after going swimming she fell asleep on me (it was naptime afterall) and then slept on a lounge chair wrapped in a towel.  It’s like being on vacation there.  So nice…I even texted Court to say thank you for the membership.  When you’re in a grateful mood you should say thank you. of course.

Here’s some pics of our summer so far.  Enjoy yours!
